NFPA delegates recently adopted the following definition for pro bono services:

 Pro Bono Publico means providing or assisting to provide legal services in order to enhance access to justice for persons of limited means; charitable,religious, civic, community, governmental and educational organizations in matters that are designed primarily to address the legal needs of persons with limited means; or individuals, groups or organizations seeking to secure or protect civil rights, civil liberties or public rights.

If you perform pro bono services, please use the following forms for reporting purposes to NFPA/AAP.  Amy Paulino is the pro bono committee chair and can be contacted regarding questions.  Her contact information can be found on the members only page links.

ANNOUNCEMENT: 

The ABA Pro Bono Committee and its project, the Center for Pro Bono are offering scholarships to the 2005 Equal Justice Conference www.equaljusticeconference.org (May 5-7, 2005) in Austin, TX.

The Center's Scholarship Program, which was created to encourage attendance by pro bono professionals, who, without financial assistance, would not be able to attend the EJC, covers the basic conference registration fee.   http://www.abanet.org/legalservices/ejc/center_scholarship_form_2005.pdf

The Justice Scholarship Program provides travel expense assistance to full-time pro bono program managers and staff as well as to new lawyers participating in post-graduate public service fellowships who attend the EJC. http://www.abanet.org/legalservices/ejc/justice_scholarship_form_2005.pdf
