BAR LIAISON COMMITTEE
The Committee’s current goal
is to continue its strong working relationship with the
Alaska Bar and to work with the Bar to ultimately establish
a voluntary Alaska Paralegal Registration program to
continue to promote professional development and further
define paralegals' roles and responsibilities within Alaska.
One of the Committees’ main responsibilities is to serve as
liaison between AAP and the bar associations. Additional
responsibilities of this Committee include maintaining contact
with NFPA’s Bar Liaison for updates to AAP’s members of national
news concerning paralegals; attending bar meetings when the
content is of interest to AAP; promoting collaboration between
AAP’s CLE Committee and the Alaska Bar in co-presentation of
CLEs; and encouraging the Alaska Bar to promote paralegal
continuing legal education to enhance legal services provided to
Alaskans.
The Committee keeps AAP’s members updated of the bar
associations’ future events that may be of interest to
paralegals through this page, AAP’s quarterly newsletter, and/or
member broadcast emails.
